Housing

ACTION CDC constructs affordable housing to assist low and moderate income families and individuals.

•  Developing 56 apartment units on Old Spanish Trail

Human & Social Services

ACTION CDC assists families and individuals with parenting classes, family field trips, job readiness training, supportive counseling, violence intervention, educational initiatives, drug abuse intervention, and distribution of food and clothing.  
•  Providing Community Based Case Management services to 1500 survivors of Hurricane Katrina through the Katrina Aid Today National Case Management Consortium.

•  The Well Rounded Athlete Sports Training Camps are a series of football and track & field camps that emphasize leadership, goal setting and work ethics.

Urban Leaders Youth program is an after school and Saturday tutoring and enrichment program that helps youth and their families to identify ways that they can use their individual talents to improve the communities they live in through applying principles acquired in urban planning, service learning and rites of passage training.


Commercial Development

ACTION CDC purchases, constructs and manages retail spaces to bring viable community businesses to the neighborhoods that need them most.

•  Developing 7,000 square feet of commercial retail space on Old Spanish Trail

Economic Development

ACTION CDC offers money management workshops, basic job skills and computer skills training. Our business incubator program assists small start-up businesses with office space and resources.  

•  Providing Money Management workshops

•  Homebuyer University provides families with the necessary tools to achieve home     ownership.

•  On the Job is a course that provides skill development training in various job areas    including customer service, office management, hotel and restaurant management,    and more!

• Providing Money Management to assist with budgeting, credit repair, investing, and    more.

Arts and Culture

ACTION CDC provides youth mediation services, camping trips, summer camps, martial arts and cultural exchange programs.

•  Creatively Speaking Art Therapy teaches youth to discover, develop, and utilize their individual talents as a form of self expression.
