He advocates spiritual and moral excellence; drug, alcohol, and criminal rehabilitation; educational reform; strong family values; economic self-sufficiency; community pride; and self-improvement. Minister Robert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1978 from Hampton University . In 1980, he moved to Houston , Texas , to pursue a career in Banking and Finance. He has served as Minister of Muhammad Mosque No. 45 since 1987 and SW Regional Minister since 1994. Robert Muhammad is recognized as a local and national leader and his awards include the American Public Health Association's Black Caucus of Health award. He has also received public service awards from the Texas Black Legislative Caucus and the Houston Police Department to name a few. He earned a Masters Degree in the field of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy at the School of Public Affairs and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. He is married and the proud father of four sons.
